Snow Flake Canvas Craft

Snow Flake Canvas Craft

Colder weather is here and it's time to get more creative with indoor activities that will keep Tiny Humans occupied.

This past Sunday afternoon, The Tiny Humans and I made some snow flake canvases. This is great for days when you're feeling creative, and you'd rather stay indoors.

These snowflake canvases are fun and easy, and they make great gifts for grandparents!

Materials You'll Need:

  1. Canvas
  2. Painters Tape and or Patterning Tape
  3. Acrylic Paint
  4. Hair Dryer
  5. Paint Brush (foam or bristle brush)
  6. Cardboard box or newspapers
  7. Paper Plate
Step 1
Tell The Tiny Humans paint brushes aren't swords
Because everything is a sword.
Step 2
Take your flatened cardboard box or newspapers and place them at your workspace.
Step 3
Create a cross pattern on your canvas. If you're feeling fancy you can use the smaller patterning tape to create curved designs.
Step 4
Using the patterning tape make small "v" allong the larger cross pattern
Smaller "v" along the larger cross pattern
Step 5
Choose your paint colors and place them on a paper plate or palette. For this project, The Tiny Humans chose silver and gold metallic paints, along with a glitter paint.--note glitter works best if you put it down first then paint on top of it. Also works well if you paint on the entire canvas after you remove the tape at the end.
